– Maya Chaudhary,34 years is the residence of Gadwa RuralMuncipality -5-Banki. She has 5 members in her family. Her husband worked as mason and whole family depend on him for daily necessity. Her family has only 2.5kattha land. There were several difficulties to meet the daily expenses of the family and education of the children. She used to go for daily wages in brick industries to meet the expenses of the family.
Although she was in land right forum but she has no idea to initiate enterprise. She participates in different training such as women leadership training, vegetable farming training and also attends regularly in Business and right literacy class. She is acquainted with different services and provision in local government, rights and entitlement, planning process of local government etc through BRL classes. After that she found more active and interested to initiate poultry enterprise. Project support Nrs 30000 revolving fund on December 2018 to start the poultry enterprise. She starts poultry enterprise adding 200 chicks. She obtains income of about Nrs 110000 from poultry enterprise. She returns the revolving fund from the income.Now she is able to dialogue with local government and other agencies. She got fruit saplings from Gadwa Rural municipality. She has saving of about NRs 90000 in different cooperative and groups.
Now days she easily manages expenses of children’s and daily family expenses from the income of poultry enterprise. She has planned to extend poultry enterprise by using her saving and if needed she is planning to take loan from cooperatives in coming days. She thanks for POWER project for transforming her from daily wages labour to entrepreneur.
